Bochum – It was supposed to be an exuberant night – after the month-long celebration stop due to Corona measures. And it ended in death drama! After an argument with security, a visitor (41) died at a techno party in Bochum. Now, a homicide detective is investigating.
According to the organizer, “more than 3000 guests” celebrated at the techno party “Polarize” in the event hall “RuhrCongress” until Sunday morning. What they at least noticed during the night: Around 2:30am, a man had argued with the security team. The man had already been expelled and wanted to return to the party.

“In the course of the initially verbal fights, there were fights, which resulted in the person being fixed by an employee,” police and the district attorney said Sunday morning.

Police spokeswoman Gianna Isabella Struck: “The man was kicked out of the halls for inappropriate behavior and then tried to rejoin the event. However, he was rejected by security but did not see this and became verbally abusive. Security fixed him up. and the man fainted.”
The Bochumer had to be revived; an ambulance took him to the hospital. There, the man was pronounced dead after several hours of resuscitation.

The public prosecutor in charge, Andreas Bachmann, ordered an autopsy. It is intended to provide information about the cause of death and whether drugs may be involved.
The police temporarily arrested the security team.
