The story of the Ukrainian killer granny who allegedly poisoned

“British intelligence has known about the Russian invasion since last summer.” This is how the UK and US alarm brought NATO back together

The BBC has published a lengthy reconstruction of all the steps taken by British and US intelligence to try to defuse the Russianorchestrated invasion of Ukraine. In this report, published on the British newspaper’s portal, we first read that Moscow’s goals have been known for some time. A source linked to Western intelligence explained: “Over the summer we saw a small group of highranking Russian officials planning a fullscale invasion. Evidence that this fullscale invasion was far from unexpected was also the publication of a lengthy article in the Washington Post, which contained full details of a military operation in Ukraine that would have been linked to it 175,000 soldiers of the Russian army. The article, signed by Shane Harris and Paul Sonne, also included satellite photos showing the movements of Moscow troops along the border with Ukraine. A collection of men and resources that the Kremlin has repeatedly established as part of an exercise.

The new intelligence communications tactic

Based on this article in the Washington Post, the BBC’s Gordon Corera has reconstructed the entire strategy of the intelligence agencies. On this occasion, the secret service decided to openly disseminate classified information through the press or through government sources. A strategy used to urge Western governments to take a stand against Russia. An intelligence official interviewed by Corera says he’s never seen anything like it in his entire career: one day topsecret material sat on his desk, the next day it ended up in the newspapers. These communications tactics did not prevent Moscow from proceeding with the invasion, but they did help blast some strategies already decided by the Kremlin, starting with trying to create false flag attacks to create a pretext for invading Ukraine.

According to Corera, the new communications strategy would have been organized by the United Kingdom and United States intelligence agencies: “The collection and analysis of data was a joint United States and United Kingdom task. The exact origin of the information remains a secret, but officials say they obtained it from multiple sources. A few months earlier, the services had sounded the alarm, trying to stop the war, the extent of which had been repeatedly confirmed ». From the BBC’s reconstruction we read that the most important effect of disseminating all of Moscow’s plans was to enable the countries of the West to give a unified and decisive response at the beginning of the invasion.
