The British government has announced new sanctions against Russia Wladimir Putin after the annexation of the Ukrainian territories. This can be read in a statement from the Foreign Office, according to which Moscow will lose access to the main Western services on which it depends and the Export ban on nearly 700 goods critical to Russia’s industrial and technological prowess. Elvira Nabiullina, the governor of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, will also be sanctioned.
A new round of sanctions against Russia is also coming from the USA. The State Department uses rVisa restrictions for over 900 Russian executives while the Treasury Department is about to lodge 300 MEPs blacklisted. Elvira Nabiullina, her deputy Olga Skorobogatova and family members of the Russian National Security Council were also sanctioned (the members are already blacklisted). The Treasury Department and Commerce Department will impose export sanctions and restrictions on any company, institution or person that “provides political or economic support to Russia for its so-called annexation,” the White House said. The Ministry of Finance is also taking similar action against 14 international companies in support of the Russian army’s supply chain. Finally, the Commerce Department is adding 57 companies to the list restricting commercial transactions and intends to ensure companies outside the US are restricted in the deals they can do with those on the list.
