Mauro Repetto is one of the two artists who spawned 883, one of the seminal bands of Italian entertainment, in the ’90s. Let’s find out why an artist left music early.
Who is Mauro Repetto?
Mauro Repetto was born on December 26, 1968 in Genoa. As a child he attended the scientific Copernicus Gymnasium in Pavia. Here he meets Max Pezzali, who rejects him. The two become classmates and soon begin composing songs. In 1989, Cecchetto, a talent scout, spotted Pezzali at a Jovanotti show and signed him.
The partnership between Pezzali and Repetto forms the 883 that introduces Pezzali to the world of music. For the first time they play Non me la menare at the Castrocaro Festival, but they killed Spider-Man: Repetto, co-author of many successful songs to make them really famous. However, Repetto had a hard time finding his place on stage during live performances. While Max was actually the group’s lead singer, he just sat and danced, sparking humor from the press.
In 1993, Nord Sud Ovest Est sold twice as much as the group’s first album. After 1994’s remix work, which repeated the group’s hits in a dance key, Repetto moved away from Pezzali. After Red Ronnie’s performance at the Roxy Bar in January 1994, Repetto said goodbye to the group. He then travels to the United States to win over Brandy, a model he adores. He soon managed to meet her, but it didn’t break his heart.
ZuccheroFilatoNero, the 1995 film for which he composed the soundtrack, was a commercial and critical failure. As a result, he had to return to Italy, where he attempted to become a film producer in New York. ZuccheroFilatoNero was produced in 1995 as the soundtrack to his film. In 1995 he moved to France to pursue his dream of working in cinema again, but the album was a commercial and critical failure. After some time he was employed as an animator at Disneyland Paris. After catching the attention of a human resources manager, he was promoted to producer and manager of special events. After working on the theatrical comedy The Personal Coach, he returned to the music world in 2012, working as a backing vocalist on the Pezzali and J-Ax single Semper noi.
He then writes some songs from the Max 20 album with his old friend Max, most notably Il Presidente di tutto il mondo and Welcome Mr. President. What does he do today Mauro Repetto? He continues his career on the fringes of the entertainment world, always linked with great affection to his friend Pezzali. And according to some rumours, he may soon reunite with Max to breathe life into the 883, at least for one evening.
Mauro Repetto’s personal life: wife and children
Mauro Repetto and his wife Joséphine founded the design company Manjiaca in 2004. In addition to starting the company, they also had two children. It seems Repetto’s father wasn’t happy about him leaving the 883 because he didn’t say to him, “Despite Spider-Man, you killed the goose that lays the golden eggs.” He has a degree in literature. Mauro Repetto does not have an official Instagram account.
