The suffering was enormous and the struggle was tragic, however Alcides (Juliano Cazarre) and Maria (Isabel Teixeira) finally find the peace they were looking for in the soap opera wetland and they will be able to enjoy life without difficulties, entitled to a visual makeover and an eartoear smile. After several scenes that focus on physical decline, author Bruno Luperi shows the couple in their final moments in their glorious prime, with wellgroomed skin and clean clothes, as if they had just left the store.
The general feeling will be gratifying, especially as Tenório (Murilo Benício) will be gone from the face of the earth after being speared by Alcides and Zaquieu (Silvero Pereira) and devoured by piranhas in the river. It seems hard, but it’s almost nothing compared to the absurdities committed by the squatter throughout the storyline.

With the looks of a peasant, Alcides leaves the pledge behind and becomes a successful businessman at the side of Maria, with whom he lives peacefully and gradually tries to suppress the disturbing memories of the abuse he suffered. Guta’s mother (Julia Dalavia) will finally be able to roam free without hearing barbarism.
The greatest beauty will lie in the apparent love between Maria and Alcides, which by the way will be the absolute highlight at the end of the Pantanal, with a triple wedding, emotional guests and a musical farewell sponsored by the excellent guitarists available in the region.
