Much of Debbie Lynch-White’s professional happiness lies in her choice of projects. With the room Ices, the actress is convinced that once again she has chosen well.
“I feel like I’m contributing something with this production,” she said in a phone interview. It’s very exciting.”
For her, everything begins with the text by Rébecca Deraspe. “Its strength is that it covers a dense subject without being preachy. She manages to convey all the humor that everyday life brings with it. His way of making the characters speak is unique. It’s very powerful.”
In this story, a woman receives a text that her boyfriend raped a friend twenty years ago during her prom. The suspect is released and returns to his hometown of Bas-Saint-Laurent, where he meets the other classmate who was with him that fateful evening.
“The notion of approval is very topical,” says the one who played La Bolduc on the big screen. Societal questions are raised as to where the limits should be set and what the possible remedies are. It speaks of the courage to recognize and name the damage done. Thanks to its humor and lovable characters, this piece opens up the dialogue without preaching.”
In Montreal and Quebec
In this work, Debbie Lynch-White embodies the sister of the person suspected of having committed this horrific crime. “It’s a girl who can do it,” she insists. With a lot of humor and a good heart, she tries to argue with her brother.

Some actors will only perform in the metro or state capital, but Debbie Lynch-White will be in all the performances, about fifty.
“This show is a cakewalk. I can’t wait to see how the fun develops, but I think it will grow. Good productions, you don’t get tired of them,” concludes the actress.
♦ Ice cream will be presented at La Licorne from October 4 to November 5, 2023 and at La Bordée from January 10 to February 4, 2023.
