Lucy Fallon has expressed her joy at the birth of her first child with footballer boyfriend Ryan Ledson.
The former Coronation Street actress, 26, announced last week that she is five months old and is expecting her bundle of joy in February, but also admitted the experience was tinged with fear as she sadly miscarried in March suffered.
She told The Mirror: “It was a traumatizing, horrible time. We went for a scan and they couldn’t see anything so we went to the hospital and they thought they could see something so it was very up and down.

“I had signs of pregnancy and felt really uncomfortable. There were no signs that I had miscarried, which made it more of a shock. We just assumed that everything would be fine. Then after a week when they did the blood tests and other tests I went back and they said I had a miscarriage. It was a really strange feeling.’
But the soap star revealed the tragic loss had brought the couple closer and made them realize they wanted to start a family.
Lucy said: “That changed things and made us realize that this was definitely what we wanted. Situations like this can really test your relationship. It made us closer and stronger.’

Previously, Lucy told OK! Magazine: “I was a bit shocked by what we went through and I didn’t think it would happen so quickly. But we did makeup and it felt like the next level for us. It felt like it should be.’
The actress didn’t initially believe she was pregnant again, admitting she shocked her mum after a positive test result FaceTimed before later sharing the happy news with Ryan.
She also revealed that she will be monitored throughout her pregnancy as she has been classified as “high risk” because of her heart-shaped uterus.
While that wasn’t the reason for her miscarriage in March, it has understandably worried the star.
While the couple is looking forward to becoming a family of three, they are still grappling with their recent loss.
Speaking of her “traumatizing and horrifying” miscarriage, Lucy said: “Even though so many people go through it, you never expect it to happen to you. I had imagined this little person coming into our lives and then she was taken from me.
“It was really a mental challenge and really awful to deal with but Ryan was so supportive.”
Lucy had to have surgery to remove pregnancy tissue after the loss, but luckily Ryan, who “supported” her, was able to be by her side while she was in hospital.
In the same month as her miscarriage, Ryan was also hospitalized as he required surgery on his knee for historical injuries.
Although she had yet to announce her miscarriage, Lucy referenced the couple’s woes in an Instagram post on March 21, sharing a selfie of the couple with the caption: “Tough couple a week but happy 2 have ux ❤️ ”

Lucy and Preston North End midfielder Ryan officially took to Instagram in May last year.
Their romance came after Lucy finally ended things with her ex-partner Tom Leech in January 2021.
Lucy split from her boyfriend of three years for the first time last August, before she began filming ITV’s Don’t Rock The Boat after lockdown “drifted them apart”.
But insiders close to the actress later revealed they secretly reunited in September last year to give their relationship one last try.
However, according to one report, Lucy soon threw the insurance manager out of the home they shared in Blackpool for the last time.
