Suzuki was actually wearing a jersey like the others, while the day before his teammates had to avoid any contact with him depending on the color of his jersey.
The 23-year-old striker will apparently be able to play a pre-season game with the Habs soon.
The Canadians, who will be in action in Ottawa on Saturday night, will not rely on Suzuki in this game against the Senators. On the other hand, Quebec’s Jonathan Drouin must be back in uniform for the first time since the preseason calendar began. Drouin was to be used in a line completed by Mike Hoffman and prospective Owen Beck.
Looking for a first win
The hearings against the senators therefore continue. Montreal is still looking for a first preseason win after previously suffering losses to the New Jersey Devils, Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets. Sainte-Flanelle’s official line-up for tonight’s clash will be announced later this morning.
The Ontario team will play a second game against the Habs in as many nights after losing the flag 6-3 to the Maple Leafs in Belleville on Friday night.
Coach DJ Smith is expected to field forwards Claude Giroux and Alex DeBrincat.
