First official photo of King Charles III. published with his family

The British royal family published the first official photo of King Charles III on their Instagram profile this Saturday (1st). as king and his wife Camilla as queen consort.

Charles took over the post on September 8 following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The picture also shows heir apparent William, who assumed the title Prince of Wales, and his wife Kate, who inherited the title from Lady Di, Princess of Wales.

According to the caption, the photo was taken at Buckingham Palace on September 18 and is by Chris Jackson.

The official effigy of King Charles III, which will appear on the pound, the currency used in the United Kingdom, was unveiled to the public on Thursday (29th). The image was created by British sculptor Martin Jennings and debuted on a £50p coin and £5 coin.

There are around 27 billion British coins bearing the image of Queen Elizabeth II. These coins remain valid and are replaced over time by new ones bearing the image of King Charles.

Earlier this week, Buckingham Palace released the new version of the royal monogram used by government agencies on state documents and post boxes.

Both new coins and new mailboxes will be circulated as needed. That is, objects with the image of Charles III. will continue to circulate for years, while those include the face of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who died of natural causes earlier this month.
