Government statement on Ukraine at the National Council

The National Council will hold a special session on Monday afternoon. He was summoned by the coalition to make statements on the current situation, including the energy crisis. In addition to Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens), Chancellor Karoline Edtstadler, who represents Prime Minister Karl Nehammer (ÖVP), who is at a conference on migration in Hungary, has a say.

The meeting will also provide a legal clarification on who can issue special authorizations for the export of goods to Russia. This task falls to justice, even in matters that really fall within the competence of the federal states.

But that was not the end of the special sessions during the week. The National Council will meet again on Tuesday, this time at the request of the Freedom Party with a focus on asylum rather than sanctions on Russia.
