Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Trailer CONFIRMS new Black Panther and features Ironheart for the first time

The latest trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever not only confirmed a new Black Panther after the death of King T’Challa, but also revealed a new hero for the first time.

The two-minute, action-packed clip was released by Marvel on Monday as it showed that someone would take over the mantle after the death of Chadwick Boseman’s character, in addition to showing Ironheart for the first time.

The end of the trailer featured a woman in a form fitting suit similar to T’Challa’s, presumably his sister Shuri, played by Letitia Wright.

Another key moment was the first glimpse of Ironheart in an all-steel suit as she flies through the air much like Iron Man.

It showed Dominique Thorne, played by Riri Williams, assembling the pieces for the intricate outfit before taking off.

It later showed her ‘Let’s go!’ as she shot through the air.

Ironheart is a teenage engineering student who designs armor similar to Iron Man using materials stolen from campus.

The trailer opened with the fallen T’Challa’s emotional funeral as his mother, Queen Ramonda, played by Angela Bassett, walked alongside Shuri, who was holding her brother’s helmet.

Then an ominous voice was heard from new villain Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta, saying, “Only the most broken people…can be great leaders.”

It then shows Namor, the underwater king of Talokan, in full royal garb as he descends to his throne in the ocean.

M’Baku, played by Winston Duke, is surrounded by many others as he describes the villain: “His people don’t call him a general or a king. They call him K’uk’ulkan. The Feather Serpent God. If you kill him, you risk an eternal war.”

Namor – also known as the Sub-Mariner – is the mutant son of a human sea captain and a princess of the mythical underwater kingdom of Atlantis, possessing super strength and aquatic abilities as a Homo Mermanus race, in addition to flying and other superhuman powers.

Ironheart and Namor weren’t the only big revelations in the clip as Michaela Cole made her debut as queer warrior Aneka.
