It is undoubtedly the most anticipated vehicle as it fascinates.
The Cybertruck, the futuristic truck introduced by Tesla (TSLA) – Get Tesla Inc Report in 2019, is a vehicle that has the potential to transform this segment of the electric vehicle market in the years to come.
Its revolutionary design amazes and at the same time raises many questions. This design reminds us of science fiction.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk didn’t help matters by saying that the futuristic vehicle design was “influenced in part by ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’,” a nod to the amphibious Lotus Esprit S1 from the James Bond film 1977 movie.
“Cybertruck’s design is partially influenced by The Spy Who Loved Me,” the tech tycoon revealed on Twitter in November 2019.
Important differences from the prototype
Almost every element of Musk’s prototype had left even his most ardent fans stunned.
So the question was whether the model to be marketed would look like the prototype.
Musk just provided the first answers at the official opening of the Tesla factory in Austin, Texas on April 7th.
The billionaire presented what resembles the production version of the Cybertruck pickup.
Strictly speaking, he did not specify it, but doubts are almost not allowed.
It must be said that the model resembles the concept presented in 2019 in almost every way.
The lines drawn with a ruler are still in play, but there are some differences, such as the presence of modern lights on the front, placed between the grille and the shields, the rims.
It’s the same aluminum gray color as the body, and they’re now open, letting the air through.
The retractable door handles (like on the Model S) have completely disappeared. It seems that Tesla has decided to remove them and replace them with an automatic opening system when the driver approaches.

To access it you just have to be in possession of the card and the doors will open automatically when you approach. It appears that you can tap your phone or a key card on a specific sensor and the door will open.
However, this raises questions about the legality of this new system, since access to the car by the emergency services would only be more complicated in the event of an accident.
There’s also a big change and it’s about the only gigantic wiper blade that can cover the entire surface of the imposing windscreen that the prototype had.

A potential hit
Conclusion: Apart from mirrors, different tires, a windscreen with a different structure and some small adjustments, the Cybertruck is still a futuristic design truck.
But we’ll have to wait before knowing more about it, as nothing else has been stated aside from news that Tesla will begin production in 2023 at its new Austin, Texas, factory, where the manufacturer’s headquarters are located previously located in California are now housed.
The company has a website for Cybertruck where people can reserve one of the vehicles for a $100 refundable deposit — essentially no commitment on a vehicle that won’t be cheap.
The Tesla Cybertruck promises up to 500 miles of electric range, a maximum towing capacity of 14,000 pounds, and a base price of under $40,000.
“The base price for a single-engine, rear-wheel-drive Tesla Cybertruck is $39,900, not including destination fees. The dual-motor, four-wheel drive version starts at $49,900 and the top-of-the-line tri-motor four-wheel drive version of the Cybertruck is $69,900,” according to Kelley Blue Book.
“Unlike many other electric cars, Teslas are no longer eligible for government tax incentives.”
Buyers must also add Tesla’s $12,000 Full Self-Driving driver assistance system at final check.
“If Elon and his crew can deliver on what they promise, the Cybertruck could be a hit,” Kelley told Blue Book.
The Cybertruck’s rivals will no doubt be the Rivian (RIVN) – Get Rivian Automotive, Inc. Class A Report R1T Electric Pickup, GMC Hummer Pickup, and GM (GM) – Get the General Motors Company Report Chevy Silverado electric pickup and the F-150 Lightning, an electric version of the Ford (f) – Get the Ford Motor Company Report F-150 pickup.
