Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez admitted he was “pissed off” and “worried” after watching his side be beaten 1-0 by Inter in the Champions League.
A lone goal from Hakan Çalhanoğlu was enough to give the hosts victory but Barca were furious with some decisions during the game.
The visitors saw a Pedri equalizer converted with a handball and were also denied a penalty after a handball by Denzel Dumfries in their own penalty area.
Xavi was particularly upset by the decisions and wants an explanation from match officials.
“I’m mad at the situation we had to live in. It’s an injustice. I said yesterday that the referees have to explain themselves,” he said.
“We do not understand anything. The referee should speak. I shouldn’t speak for a decision I didn’t make. For me it is very clear the hand. The referee should give explanations.”
However, Xavi also admitted his team weren’t at their best and is now worried about their chances of progressing to the knockout rounds.
“We woke up late. We ended up bottling them, but the chances didn’t come. We knew that the shot from outside the box was one of their virtues. We have three finals left,” he added.
“I’m worried about losing. Bayern have nine points, Inter six and we have three. The situation is complex.”
