Twitter hasn’t done everything badly in recent years: the social network that Elon Musk ultimately wants to buy has increased the length of these tweets from 140 to 280 characters. Plenty of room to hammer out a Russo-Ukrainian peace plan for the Tesla and Space X boss.
The billionaire posted a tweet in the form of a pollOctober 3 :
“Peace Ukraine-Russia:
– Repeat the elections of the annexed regions under the supervision of the UN. Russia will withdraw if that is the will of the people.
– Crimea is officially part of Russia, as it was since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake).
– Crimea’s water supply secured.
– Ukraine remains neutral.

Of the 2,748,378 netizens who took part in the vote, 40.9% said yes, 59.1% said no, and the affair ignited. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy did not like who tweeted in response: “Which Elon Musk do you prefer: the one who supports Ukraine? The one who supports Russia? Traffic jam on Twitter with 2,431,641 voters, 78.8% of whom favor pro-Ukrainian Musk, who notably provides Starlink internet relays to help Ukraine’s defense.

Elon Musk believes that he only formulates simple ideas: “That is most likely the end result – just a question of how many people die first.” » Then warns: “It should also be noted that a possible, albeit unlikely, outcome of this conflict is nuclear war. “I’m a big fan of Ukraine, but not of WWIII,” added the richest man in the world (around $200 billion).
China’s ambassador to Washington thanks Musk
On October 11, the affair escalated a little more with the tweet from political scientist Ian Bremmer, Head of geopolitical think tank Eurasia Group: “Elon Musk told me he spoke directly to Putin and the Ukrainian Kremlin. He also told me what the Kremlin’s red lines were, Mr. Bremmer tweeted. I’ve long admired Musk as a one-of-a-kind, world-changing entrepreneur, and I’ve said so publicly. He’s not an expert on geopolitics. »
Elon Musk is angry, denies – “No, it’s not. I’ve only spoken to Putin once, and that was about eighteen months ago. The theme was space” –, attacks the political scientist – “No one should trust Bremmer” – and releases a kidnapped photo of OJ Simpson’s iconic 1994 chase became an image of him “trying to escape the mainstream media” – very Trumpist terminology.
