Former US Congressman Tulsi Gabbard announced on Tuesday that she was leaving the Democratic Party, a formation she described as an “elitist clique” of pro-war forces.
“I can no longer stay in the current Democratic Party, which is completely controlled by an elite cabal of warmongers fueled by a cowardly revival, who divide us by treating every issue racist, who foment anti-white racism and actively working to undermine our liberties enshrined in our Constitution,” Gabbard criticized in a video posted to his YouTube channel.
Those who are part of this elite “are hostile to people of faith and spirituality, demonize the police and protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans. They believe in open borders, use security forces to pursue their political opponents and, most importantly, they are pulling us ever closer to nuclear war,” he said.
“Government by and for the powerful elite”
The policy ensures that the US needs “a people’s government” that works “by the people and for the people.” “Unfortunately, the Democratic Party does not do that today, but represents a government that is by and for the powerful elite,” lamented Gabbard, urging other moderate members of that formation to leave their ranks.
Gabbard, who was seeking the Democratic presidential nomination in the 2020 election, has strayed further and further from the lines of that political movement, to the point of becoming an outspoken critic of President Joe Biden, whom he accuses of “added fuel to the fire.” the division of the country, reports Fox News.
In addition, the former congresswoman has repeatedly spoken out against wars and interventions by Washington to force regime change in other countries. In early February, the former Democrat said the Biden administration “wants Russia to invade Ukraine” in order to impose “draconian” sanctions on Moscow, benefiting the US military-industrial complex.
