“There is a very deep awareness of the need for social communication in order for us to be able to articulate ourselves, create the greatest number of community media and produce decolonizing content, embroiled in the political struggle of our peoples” , claimed Ramírez .
These articulation actions, let’s say the creation of communicating vessels or resonant spaces, will allow the progressive and left-wing forces – which have no sense of mutual domination but rather of cooperation – to do a more positive job in the current scenario, he said.
In this regard, the ICRT First Vice-President highlighted the coordination work of the public media of the countries belonging to the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty – ALBA-TCP.
In the case of ALBA-TCP, we are pursuing an agenda that brings us together systematically and helps to coordinate actions and activities, with an emphasis on content production with market opportunities on the new internet platforms and with a sense of organic and focused political militancy. in civic welfare and social justice, Ramírez stressed.
To date, the International Summit Against Fascism brings together nearly 200 guests from five continents in Caracas, with an agenda focused on the new faces of the far right, alternative and popular communications, and experiences of popular struggles and resistance for the new times.
The event is part of the program to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the popular victory against the coup carried out by sections of the oligarchs and the Venezuelan far right against Bolivarian leader Hugo Chávez (1954-2013) on April 11. 2002
