Amy Schumer slammed a headline claiming she and husband Chris Fischer are moving into a $12.5 million mansion in “star-studded Montecito,” California, and saying she never would at the Oscars making a joke about Alec Baldwin filming Rust.
The 40-year-old comedian shared a screenshot of a report in the Daily Mail on Instagram on Tuesday with a caption that read: “Exclusive: Head West! Amy Schumer and husband Chris Fischer are heading to the Bicoast after snagging a $12.5 million ocean-view mansion in star-studded Montecito.”
“That’s not true,” Schumer captioned her post. “I never intended to say the Alec Baldwin joke at the Oscars either. But I say whatever I want at my live shows. hope you come out Link in bio for tickets to my shows. I’m traveling for the holidays in August!”

DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal that the 40-year-old comedian is currently in trust at the dream property in the affluent city, where neighbors are Ellen DeGeneres, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, as well as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
This will be the first West Coast home for the New York native, who currently owns a posh, $12.15 million, 3,000-square-foot lot on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
Million dollar listing Fredrik Eklund, super agent from New York and Los Angeles, is representing the seller in the mega dollar deal.
The play noted that the “Trainwreck” star has denied buying the multi-million dollar home, but the outlet said its sources stand behind its information. The 7,600-square-foot home is described as a six-bedroom, two-story, eight-bathroom home built in 2001 on a 20-acre lot. Pictures of the mansion can be seen here.
As previously reported by The Daily Wire, Schumer reportedly took the stage for a stand-up performance after seeing 94 Baldwin on the “Rust” set.
Schumer reportedly made a joke about the sexual misconduct allegations against actor James Franco, which he has denied, and several jokes about Joe Rogan, though the outlet didn’t mention what those were.
She then focused on Alec Baldwin’s shooting on the film set in New Mexico, where cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was shot dead on October 21 after a gun Baldwin was holding fired a bullet, previously reported.
“‘Don’t Look Up’ is the name of a movie?” Schumer is said to have told the crowd. “Better not look down the barrel of Alec Baldwin’s shotgun. I wasn’t allowed to say anything about it [at the Oscars]but you can just come and [slap] someone.”
Schumer and Fischer tied the knot in 2018 and have a two-year-old son together.
