A day like April 14, but from 1936 the theater group “La Barraca” makes his last representation in Barcelona. Created by Federico García Lorca, it was coordinated and managed by a committee made up of students of philosophy, literature and architecture, as well as some avant-garde painters and artists. The theater company began a tour of Spain in July 1932 as a propaganda tool for the government of the Second Republic.
After the military uprising that gave rise to it Spanish Civil War and the assassination of Federico García Lorca, “La Barraca” paralyzed its activities. Miguel Hernández was appointed director in 1937 to reorganize the project, but the Second Republic’s disorganized situation in the conflict led to the project being abandoned.
Also on April 14, 1980 the album “Iron Maiden” was released in Great Britain, the first studio album by the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden. Considered one of the most important bands of all time. In their more than 40-year career, they have sold more than 100 million records worldwide.
