Vladimir Zelensky’s acting career prepared him for the world stage

After all, he is one of them.

Before entering politics, Zelensky was a comedian, actor and writer, participated in romantic comedies and as a high school teacher, who became president of the Ukrainian political satirical series “Servant of the People”.

His magnetism and oratory skills have been demonstrated since Ukraine was invaded by Russia. His courage, passion and determination are praised all over the world.

During the recent Screen Actors Guild Awards, Zelenski received recognition from two actors as they accepted their trophies.

“I would tell you that we have a fellow actor in Zelensky who deserves some credit tonight for the fight,” said Michael Keaton as he accepted the award for outstanding performance as a male actor in a television movie or limited series for Dopesick.

Brian Cox, accepting the award for outstanding dramatic ensemble for his show “Heritage”, also praised Zelensky.

“The President of Ukraine was a comic book artist. He was a wonderful comedian, “Cox said. “And we have to respect that for him. Coming to the presidency was amazing.”

Zelenski was elected president in 2019 in what the BBC described as a “convincing victory”. More about his career in the arts before taking office follows below.Vladimir Zelenski goes behind the scenes during the filming of his comedy show 'Liga Smeha' (League of Laughter) in 2019.

He not only participates in his productions

Zelenski co-authored the 2009 film “No Love in the City”, in which she plays a dentist with a penchant for ladies who, along with their friends, cut a romantic strip around New York.

They liken it to a male (but not so good) version of “Sex in the City.”

The film had its own fan base and sparked sequels: “No Love in the City 2” in 2010 and “Love in Vegas” in 2012.

His roles were sometimes political

Zelensky once played a character who became president of Ukraine after his video of corruption in the country went viral, but that this was not his only role that affected current events.

The 2012 film “Rzhevsky vs. Napoleon” presents the future politician in the role of political leader Napoleon Bonaparte during the invasion of Russia.

The roots of comedy

As a teenager, Zelenski began competing in comedy competitions and helped find what would become the Quarter 95 comedy troupe.

Journalist Amy Spiri tweeted a 2016 video of Zelenski making a comedy in which he and others appear to be playing the piano with their pants down.

“Who among us has not played” Hava Nagila “on the piano with his genitals on stage and then lead his country against a foreign invasion?” she tweeted. Vladimir Zelenski performs with his own

Sounding a favorite character

The world recently revealed that Zelensky voiced the Paddington bear for the Ukrainian version of the hit film from 2014 and its sequel from 2017.

Paddington star Hugh Bonneville was thrilled by the news.

“Until today, I had no idea who cast @paddingtonbear in Ukraine,” Bonneville tweeted. “I speak for myself, thank you, President Zelenski. # Paddington Bear.

National Pride for “Dancing with the Stars”

The future president proved to be light on his feet in 2006 when he competed and won his country’s version of Dancing with the Stars.

Since then, the videos of him and his professional dance partner Olena Shoptenko on the show have gone viral.

Ironically, former Ukrainian Dancing With the Stars champion and dance professional Maxim Chmerkovsky, who is from Ukraine, was in the country as part of a dance competition when Russia invaded.

Chmerkovsky documented his escape from the country and his return to the United States, where he now lives.

The return of Zelenski’s show

British Channel 4 has reportedly launched Zelensky’s 2016 comedy series Servant of the People.

It will be screened alongside the special documentary “Zelensky: The Man Who Faced with Putin,” according to a Deadline report.
