For context, Kourtney and Scott split in 2015, and the two even discussed intermittently getting back together in the years that followed. Though the two publicly dated others in the years that followed, Kourtney began dating her now-fiancé, Travis Barker, towards the end of 2020.

Kourtney previously said substance abuse was the main reason the couple split: “The infidelity, I didn’t know about it until the end, so I think the substance abuse was the deal breaker.”
Scott didn’t publicly comment on the new relationship, but made headlines when Younes Bendjima, Kourtney’s ex-boyfriend, leaked a message Scott had sent him regarding a PDA photo of Kourt and Travis in Italy: “Yo, it’s alright this chick good!?? ?? Brooooo like what is that. In the middle of Italy.”

Elsewhere in the episode The Kardashians, Kourtney called the news “despicable.”
However, Scott discusses the relationship on the family’s new Hulu show. “I think for the first time in my life [my head] is finally starting to change. Now that Kourtney has her life with Travis, as hard as it is, it gives me a place to finally move on,” he told Khloé.
“The feeling of being left out and not being told anything is very hurtful, especially when I don’t have other family to go to,” he continued. “I prefer to be close [Kourtney and Travis] and be with my family than not at all.”

Scott’s parents died within months of each other in late 2013.
“I’ve always had her friends and our family in my ear like, ‘Don’t worry honey, you’ll eventually find out and you’ll get back together one day.’ So my foot was always half in the door.”
“It was a big adjustment losing Kourtney romantically, but now losing her as a best friend is becoming a huge adjustment. Now we’re really just co-parents. I would say it’s probably one of the harder things in my life,” he continued.
“I understand what the bigger picture is of what would be best for Kourtney,” he continued. “She’s happy, she’s in a real thing and I think that’s true. I also felt like I had wronged her so much over so many years.”

Khloé offered her own thoughts on the matter, saying in an interview, “Everybody knows they’re still in love with Kourtney, it’s no secret about each other and that must be hard for anyone to process — especially when it’s all so public.
Elsewhere in the episode, Kourtney also spoke about Scott in connection with his leaked DMs to Younes. “For so many years Scott has gotten away with bad behavior and still gets invited [to family events] and I don’t think it will continue like this,” she said.
