Russia accuses the West of using the Ukraine crisis to unleash a war against Moscow

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov again accused the West of exploiting the crisis in Ukraine to unleash an all-out hybrid war against Moscow on all fronts.
This war spans the most diverse areas, including information, according to Lavrov, who was speaking at a conference on the digital age of international relations offered by the institute, which is considered the main source of Russian diplomats.
Lavrov recalled that the West describes itself as a beacon of democracy, but grossly violates its international obligations on freedom of expression and equal access to information.
In Lavrov’s view, once Russia began to invoke its legitimate interests, Western nations forgot these obligations.
Meanwhile, in the last few hours, President Vladimir Putin stressed that non-Russian countries in Europe have admitted that they cannot do without Russian energy resources, including natural gas.
Putin stressed that while European countries could replace hydrocarbon imports from Russia in the future, there is currently no reasonable substitute as there are currently no additional volumes on the world market.
Moreover, Putin pointed out that supplies from other nations that can export to Europe, such as the United States, would incur much higher costs for consumers, which would affect the standard of living and the competitiveness of the European economy.
At the same time, Putin denounced that the country’s payments for energy exports are failing because the banks of unfriendly countries are delaying the transfer of these funds to the Slavic nation.
Likewise, the Kremlin leader considered it necessary to prepare the Russian foreign exchange market for a radical increase in operations in local currencies in the country’s foreign trade.
Putin said the goal is to prepare the foreign exchange market so that any foreign currency in the required volume can be freely exchanged for Russian rubles.
The President, alluding to the dollar and euro, stressed that rejecting unreliable and compromised currency jurisdictions is of the utmost importance for Russia’s financial and economic security.
Vladimir Putin argued that this policy is also essential for maintaining and increasing foreign trade, building sustainable relationships with predictable partners who are true to their word, value their business reputation and understand the consequences of their decisions.
At least seven people, including a pregnant woman and a child, were injured in an attack from Ukraine’s territory on Thursday on a border town in District D of Russia’s Briansk province.
The Ukrainian military attacked residential buildings in Klimovo by two attack helicopters equipped with heavy strategic weapons after illegally entering Russian airspace and flying at low altitude.
Since Monday, local authorities have declared a “yellow” or high terrorist threat on the territory of Bryansk region.
Yesterday another Ukrainian attack targeted the Novye Yurkobichi border checkpoint in the same Briansk province.
More than 30 refugees from Ukraine on their way to Russia were at the checkpoint at the time of the bombing and were evacuated.
Yesterday Russia warned it could attack Ukraine’s decision-making centers in the capital if the neighboring country continues with sabotage attempts and attacks on its territory.
