The Biden administration has pledged that the United States will provide $2 million in emergency aid to Cuba to help the island recover from the devastation of Hurricane Ian. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, thanked this Wednesday for the funds made available, but said that this amount is not enough given the economic damage that Cuba has suffered from the blockade that the United States has imposed on the island that Rodríguez as a “permanent pandemic” and “permanent hurricane”.
Bruno Rodriguez: “Between August 2021 and February 2022, the losses caused by the blockade are of the order of $3,806 million.
