Tamir said, “Today’s word starts with the letter F,” to which Goldstein, referring to his Ted Lasso character, said, “Oh, I love the letter F.”

After Tamir revealed the F-word in question was fairness, Goldstein said, “Fairness is when each of us gets what we need.”

At this point, the iconic Cookie Monster character appeared in the frame and said, “I need a cookie, please,” as he looked at Goldstein, who was holding a plate of cookies.

The Emmy winner looked back at Tamir and said, “It’s fair if we share,” and Tamir offered Cookie Monster his favorite delicacy, which he devoured in no time.

Goldstein then asked, “How can we still be fair?” to which Tamir said: “When we play football later, we can make sure that everyone has their turn and invite others to play with us.”

Goldstein said, “Yes, we can be fair by inviting everyone to play football, but first we have to clean up,” pointing to the used mixing bowls used to make the cookies.

Cookie Monster offered to help clean up, leading Goldstein to commend him for “showing fairness by doing his part and helping others.”

Cookie Monster said, “I, Cookie Monster, but I’m a beautiful monster too,” and offered to wash the bowls if Tamir dried them.

When Goldstein addressed their football teams’ formation, Cookie Monster jumped in and said, “I the captain…I’m the best player, after all,” to which a skeptical Goldstein replied, “Oh really?”

“I finally found my way onto Sesame Street (all you have to do is ask, through the medium of the song) and it was more wonderful than I could have imagined. Everyone was so funny and brilliant and friendly and kind. I managed to say hello to all the residents except Snufflelupagus who was asleep (although I’ve seen him sleep and he snores less than you’d think.).’

He continued, “Truly a beautiful cast and crew filling this whole street with all the love one could ask for. Special thanks to Elmo and Grover and Big Bird and Oscar and Cookie Monster, sorry if I scared you. Special thanks to @karynl5, @sherrierwestin, Stephen M Youngwood and Zack Van Amburg for making this dream come true. It was perfect.’

Goldstein said the full episode would be out later this year as Sesame Street season 53 airs on HBO Max.
