You yes que valleys earned a finalist on the October 22nd episode. Antonietta MessinaAmateur singer, performed on the stage of the broadcast master of plays on the first Saturday night, convincing the jurors Maria De Filippi, Rudy Zerbi, Teo Mammucari and Gerry Scotti, as well as the audience and its president Sabrina Ferilli. His performance and the reasons for it were moving:
I’m here tonight and it’s already a big win for me. I’m Antonietta, I’m from North Rome. I’m going through a sad time for my health right now, but I didn’t want to give up. The news (about the participation in Tu si que vales, editor’s note) came like lightning from heaven, not very clear and I wanted to accept it in my circumstances. I will also do my best to send a message to the people who are experiencing this situation. I don’t want to be so touched, but let’s say the evil I defeated 13 years ago is back and I must win again. I think there’s nothing better than fighting it with music. The song I’m going to sing tonight is a hymn to life, “La vita”.
The story of Antonietta Messina: “I sang, then I stopped raising my children”
Antonietta said she started singing when she was a child: “Life is beautiful in every moment. I sang as a child, then devoted myself to my family and sang for relatives. I signed up for Tu si que vales but I wasn’t hoping for it. I received the call when I was leaving Sant’Andrea, I am being treated in Rome. I thought it was a joke but it was true. And then I think it was a sign because it was my birthday. I returned to singing with a group after raising my children. We sang in the squares and at festivals. It was a huge effort for me to be here and to be able to sing, I couldn’t for a while. Going back to singing was wonderful, at least I managed to do that”.
After 100 votes from the audience and jurors, Antonietta is final
Given the vote, Antonietta was able to experience firsthand the public’s appreciation for her. 100 votes for her, the standing audience and the judges who joined her on stage for her to be a finalist. “I don’t think people took credit for what you said earlier, but for how you sang. You chose a song that needed an interpretation as well as a power in the voice, and you were good. This song also speaks important words, it says that one often doesn’t realize how beautiful life is,” concludes Maria De Filippi. Sabrina Ferilli burst into tears: “The lady destroyed me”.
