LE FIGARO. – What is your reaction to the Russian attack on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant?
Boris Johnson. –Vladimir Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, called me in the middle of the night to inform me. I agree with him that this is an attack on the collective security and health of the whole of Europe. We remember Chernobyl and the radioactive cloud that spread across the continent and beyond. We need urgent collective work at the level of Western leaders to prevent a recurrence of such a catastrophe.

Are you afraid of a nuclear conflict in Ukraine?
We need to radically differentiate things. I think the talks on nuclear weapons are distracting from what is happening in Ukraine, which is a brutal and barbaric attack on an innocent people. Let us not be deceived by the rhetoric we have heard.
