Simony, 46, who has been undergoing treatment for colon cancer since August, captured the moment her eldest son, Ryan Benelli, 20, shaves his head in a video on the show A Tarde É Sua.
“My little eye was already full of tears. We cried a lot. We hugged and cried,” she said, commenting while the video was shown on the show.
At that moment, presenter Sonia Abrão highlighted the moment of affection between mother and son. “The delicacy and care of taking the mother’s hair,” he commented.
Simony went on to share details about when she shaved her head. She spoke to her son about going bald: “He wouldn’t stop crying and said, ‘Mom, I’m crying because I don’t think you’re going to like being hairless.’ I told him it’s ok because there’s lace and wig”.
According to the singer, she was in a lot of pain before she decided to shave her head. “It hurt when the hair fell out on its own, but when I went through the machine it didn’t,” he said.
“I made this decision because I was taking a shower and a clump of hair fell out. Why suffer little by little. Let’s remove it immediately. It hurts a lot. I had no hair 14 days after starting treatment,” she continued.
On the show, she reported that she cannot go bald herself and wants to go through this treatment beautifully and happily. “The cool thing is we know we’re going to go through all this and it’s not easy. But there are days when I don’t want to see anyone, when I want to stay in my room.”
Simony stated that her body has changed and as a result she faces some difficulties with the mirror on a daily basis.
“It hurts when your hair falls out, it hurts, it’s not an easy thing, it really hurts. And in addition to the pain, it also hurts the soul, it’s not easy. Sometimes people say, ‘But your hair is growing.’ “Guys, it’s going to grow, everyone knows it’s going to grow. But right now you’re 30 pounds overweight, your eyelashes are falling out, you’re getting fat, you look in the mirror and don’t recognize you.” and you say: who am I? How will I show myself to my children? How will it be with my husband? It’s a whirlwind of feelings: am I being healed? Will another appear? It is very difficult. .”, She said.
Cancer
Simony discovered an epidermoid tumor in the last part of the intestine during a colonoscopy to examine a tongue in the groin area.
Simony carries out the treatment at HCor in São Paulo. The singer says she has already explained the situation to her children and warned about the importance of routine checkups:
“The colonoscopy is very important, I didn’t even know that we had to do it from the age of 45.
After Simony underwent chemotherapy, the artist saw the tumor, which reached five centimeters, shrink in size by more than 50%. The investigations also show that there are no metastases in the body and she is ready to start a new phase of treatment: the radiotherapy sessions.
“Now I’m fine, I have no more pain. I felt a lot of pain on the left side, the tumor was 5 centimeters. That’s a lot. The pain went away only after I had the first chemotherapy. I have a lot On steroids, that’s the ‘pres’ of chemo, it’s a bomb. (The medicine) It preps your body,” he said.
“Today I don’t cry anymore. But there are days when I can’t get out of bed and just want to be left alone. Sometimes I look at myself from the outside and I think I’m very strong.” (This process has made me stronger and it can happen,” he added.
