Russell Wilson trades rumors: Commanders offer multiple elections in first round to acquire Seahawks QB, report says

Washington’s teams are apparently planning to get the highest quarterback for the 2022 season. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Washington has been active in reaching out to other teams to acquire a quarterback, according to Rapoport. Washington, two years away from winning the NFC East title, apparently believes it is a quarterback from winning another division title – and probably more than that – in 2022. Washington scored 7-10 last season and was 7- 8 with Taylor Heinicke as the starting quarterback.

The rejected commercial offer shows that both franchises are less than two weeks away from the start of the free agency. Washington is in the quarterback market, whether it’s a free agency or an upcoming draft. Seattle, at least for now, is holding on to Wilson, who was recently asked if it’s possible to play for Commanders next season.

“I love the East Coast, but I think the West Coast is better for me right now,” Wilson said. during an interview on the show “Today”.. “I have my whole family here. I’m from Richmond [Virginia]I know what you mean. I have people who hit me every day, all my friends and all that from the East Coast. ”

Wilson’s coach, Pete Carroll, told the NFL Scouting Combine this week that the team had sent calls to Wilson, who led Seattle to its first victory in the franchise’s Super Bowl nine years ago. Carol added that the team does not plan to part with its 33-year-old quarterback.

“There are conversations for everyone at this time of year.” said Carol, through Sam Fortier of the Washington Post. “We talk about everyone and it is common for us to talk to the teams about all the players, especially the tent players. And that hasn’t changed. Every year we are here is the same.

“We don’t intend to make any moves there, but the conversations, John has to make them, he always did, but nothing concrete.”

Wilson is certainly on Mount Rushmore of the iconic Seahawks, a group that probably also includes Hall of Fame successor Steve Largent, cornerback Richard Sherman and quarterback Marshon Lynch. Under the leadership of Wilson Seahawks, they set a record for the regular season 104-53-1. Seattle have reached the playoffs eight times during Wilson’s decade with the team, including running for the franchise’s first Super Bowl title in 2013 and the NFC title in 2014.

The 2021 season was difficult for Wilson and Seahawks. At 7-10 Seattle posted its first losing season, after 7-9 in 2011, Carol’s second season with the franchise. But after a year in which the Seahawks had just three drafts, they now have six picks in the 2022 draft, which should allow them to meet some of their pressing needs at the start of the season.
