ALBA-TCP rejects unilateral US position on human rights

The Executive Secretariat of the Integration Bloc confirmed its rejection of the above-mentioned Washington Report for lack of moral and technical rigor

The regional bloc stated that the United States cannot claim to teach in this area.

The trade agreement of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP) this Friday rejected the United States government’s unilateral human rights report.

In a statement, the ALBA-TCP Executive Secretariat rejected the document submitted this week by the US State Department because it was prepared by a country that has maintained an economic, trade and financial blockade against a sovereign country for more than 60 years (Cuba ).

“The preparation of the annual report for almost five decades represents an intervention in the internal affairs of states, which aims to establish itself as a tool for qualifying countries’ policies in the field of human rights,” the integration bloc emphasized.

The ALBA-TCP stated that the United States cannot strive to teach lessons in this area, failing to review its internal situation and using unilateral coercive measures against the peoples of the world, in addition to conducting disinformation and discrediting campaigns to harm other governments.

The Executive Secretariat of the Integration Bloc confirmed its rejection of the above-mentioned Washington report for lack of morality and technical rigor and for attempting to use it opportunistically to attack other countries.

Likewise, the Alliance called on the international community to oppose this type of intervention and reaffirmed its commitment to the promotion, respect and full defense of human rights.
