The oldest fans of Universitario de Deportes will surely remember Ronald Baron, also known as “Matador”. He was in the cream team in 1992 and 1993 and was a two-time national champion. He was also called up for the Peru team and came off a memorable game against Chile, scoring three goals.

Baroni played almost his entire career abroad, visiting the jerseys of Quilmes (Argentina), Deportes Concepción (Chile), O’Higgins (Chile), Porto (Portugal), Felgueiras (Portugal) and Ankarugucu (Turkey).
