Aaron Carter stopped in the RV on suspicion of drunkenness

Aaron Carter was pulled over on suspicion of DUI on Tuesday after his on-off girlfriend Melanie Martin “called the police” – with the embattled singer later cleared of any wrongdoing.

TMZ reports that the 34-year-old I Want Candy hitmaker was driving an RV in Antelope Valley around 10:45 a.m. when police received a call about a driver who may be driving under the influence and weaving through traffic.

Officials performed sobriety tests on the star and it was determined that he was not under the influence.

In a bizarre twist, he later locked his keys in the camper van with photos showing the singer climbing into the vehicle via the roof hatch to retrieve them.

The Fool’s Gold artist, who previously revealed he’s been diagnosed with schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder and anxiety, claimed online he was “the troll hunter” and sprayed what appeared to be an air freshener. Both Aaron and Melanie have lost custody of their son Prince, who is being cared for by his maternal grandmother.

Aaron claimed he volunteered for a month-long outpatient program run by Lionrock Recovery so he could regain custody of the boy.

In an interview with The US Sun, he explained: “It’s a temperance program and I work with an individual counselor. I do group therapy, parenting classes, domestic violence classes, I got certified in CPR, just a lot of different things,” he continued. “It’s new to be a parent but it’s gotten really fun and exciting and has given me a new chapter in my life. It was amazing.’
