Hanoi, 1st November (RHC) Communist Party (PCV) Central Committee member Lai Xuan Mon stressed here today the importance of cooperation between Latin American information agency Prensa Latina (PL) and Vietnam’s main media.
They represent an important information body with a long history, stressed the permanent vice-president of the PCV Propaganda and Education Commission when he received the President of Prensa Latina, Luis Enrique González Acosta, who ended a working visit to the Asian country on Tuesday.
Xuan Mon assured that every success in cooperation between the Latin American Information Agency and the Vietnamese News Agency (VNA) is a source of satisfaction, stressing the importance of expanding the valuable experience sharing between the two media.
Given the complex international situation, it is necessary to join forces to counter the increasingly frequent attacks from social networks, taking advantage of the spread and amplification of fake news (fake news), said the PCV member.
The partisan leader pointed out that despite the undeniable economic and social achievements made by Vietnam in 35 years of applying the policy of renewal, the enemies never stop slandering and spreading untruths in all areas, so the reconnaissance struggle is vital.
After thanking Xuan Mon for appreciating the collaboration between VNA and PL, González Acosta confirmed his willingness to continue to identify new areas to strengthen and expand an alliance that he considered strategic.
He also explained that his trip through Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia was aimed at strengthening cooperation with the news agencies of those countries, as well as with other major media such as the Nhan Dan (People) newspaper, with whose editor-in-chief, Le Quoc Minh, held the previous day a meeting.
During the lively dialogue, both directors agreed that there is a need to further promote cooperation and sharing of experiences in the field of digital transformation, an area in which the Vietnamese newspaper has made remarkable progress in the past two years.
Nhan Dan, Quoc Minh said, shares his knowledge in the field with the system, which consists of 63 PCV newspapers across the country, and is willing to work with Cuban media, including Prensa Latina. (Source:PL)
