US President Joe Biden warned Wednesday that some Republican candidates’ refusal to accept midterm election results was a “road to chaos.” The Democrat’s speech came days before the crucial midterm election that promises to be Republicandominated.
“There are candidates at every level of office in the United States who do not commit to accepting the results of the elections they vote in,” Biden said.
“This is the road to chaos in the United States. It’s unprecedented. It’s illegal and unAmerican,” criticized the president. “Like I said before, you can’t love your country just by winning,” he added.
The President pointed out that 2022 is an atypical year. “In a normal year we are not often faced with the question of whether the vote we cast preserves or endangers democracy.”
Election observers agree that the Democrats will be swept from power in the House by a Republican red tide next Tuesday, while the party’s control of the Senate hangs by a thread.
