Migos: Takeoff’s last Instagram story before the fatal shooting

Takeoff, a member of the rap trio Migos, was shot dead in Houston, Texas on Tuesday (November 1).
The rapper – whose full name is Kirshnik Khari Ball – was 28 years old.
Police officers were called around 2:34 a.m. local time (7:34 GMT) about a shooting outside 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley in downtown Houston, where a private party of about 40 people was taking place.
Takeoff and his Migos bandmate Quavo were both in attendance. Quavo – real name Quavious Keyate Marshall – was not injured in the altercation. The third Migos member, Offset, was not present.
According to reports, an argument broke out after a game of dice and shots were fired. Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene.
Industry insiders and fans are mourning his passing, and tributes to the late rapper are pouring out on social media.
Celebrities including James Corden, Drake, SZA, Outkast and Khloé Kardashian have shared posts remembering the rapper.
No suspects have been arrested so far, and Houston Police Chief Troy Finner has urged witnesses to come forward with information about the shooting.
Police, as well as fans of the rapper, have urged others to remove graphic videos of the incident that have been circulating online.

Nicki Minaj is the latest rapper to pay tribute to Takeoff after his death.
The “Superbass” artist shared a photo of the Migos member on her Instagram story on Thursday (November 3).
She wrote in a caption, “Now may you rest in perfect peace.”

The video shows a man with a gun at a party where Takeoff was shot
Video obtained by TMZ appears to show a person of interest standing with a gun in his pocket just before Takeoff was fatally shot.
The man is standing with a gun when Quavo, Takeoff’s bandmate, gets into an argument with someone.
The same person is then seen with a gun drawn before gunshots are heard.
The recordings are known to the police.

A new mural honoring Takeoff was painted in Atlanta
An underpass in Atlanta, Georgia now houses a mural by Takeoff.
Takeoff, along with his Migos star Offset, was from Lawrenceville, a suburb of Atlanta.
The mural is under the John Lewis Freedom Parkway Bridge near Fourth Ward Park.

Los Angeles Lakers basketball team honors Takeoff
The Los Angeles Lakers basketball team is among the youngest to honor Takeoff.
In preparation for last night’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, it was “all Migos music for the Lakers warm up tonight in tribute to Takeoff,” Lakers reporter Mike Trudell tweeted.
The Lakers were also the team of former basketball player Kobe Bryant, who tragically died in a helicopter crash in January 2020 along with his daughter Gianna and seven others.

In addition to being a groupmate, Takeoff was also Offset’s first cousin after he was removed and Quavo’s nephew.

Beyoncé dedicates her official website to Takeoff
Beyoncé paid tribute to Takeoff by dedicating the front page of her website to him.
Using a black and white image of the late rap star, the message reads, “Kirsnick Khari Ball, ‘Takeoff’, 1994 – 2022, Rest in Power.”
Migos have previously expressed their appreciation for Beyoncé, with Takeoff once claiming in an interview that they are “most definitely all in the Beyhive.”

Where is Quavo after the death of Migos rapper Takeoff?
Following the news of Takeoff’s tragic death, concerned fans have wondered about the status of his The Migos bandmate and Uncle Quavo, who was present at the fatal incident.
According to Houston police, Quavo, who was present at the time of the incident, and Takeoff were at a private party before the fatal shooting.
In a subsequent update, police tweeted, “Two other victims were taken to hospitals in private vehicles.”
During a later news conference on Tuesday (November 1), the police chief said that a 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the incident.
The news appears to confirm that 31-year-old Quavo was not among the injured, but his status remains unknown.
