Rihanna Knocked Down For Casting Johnny Depp In Fashion Show: ‘So Brave Of Rihanna To Raise Erectile Dysfunction Awareness’

Johnny Depp is set to guest star at Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 runway show, and the response to the casting was mixed, to say the least.

Much negative reaction to the collaboration between the two celebrities stems from the recent Depp v. Heard trial, which Depp emerged victorious despite many seeing evidence of domestic violence on both sides of the divorced couple. Rihanna, who has her own history of domestic violence perpetrated by singer Chris Brown, has come under fire for inviting Depp to guest star instead of Amber Heard.

“‘Our sources say that Rihanna and her team invited Johnny to be a part of it and both sides were super excited to make it happen,'” reported TMZ. “Rihanna reached out to Johnny Depp. One survivor to another,” one Twitter user wrotefollowed by a broken heart emoji.

“So brave of Rihanna to raise awareness about erectile dysfunction.” wrote Another.

One entertainment writer expressed disgust at this Words“Rough! Rihanna Kicking Off Her Fenty-Flop Era?”

Others have come to the fashion mogul and singer’s defense, siding with the outcome of the trial, which found Depp to be innocent and the one who was abused by Heard.

“People in the comments are like, ‘Rihanna, that’s not you,’ like they know her personally,” said one user tweeted. “Ffs, she can have whoever she wants on her own show. Johnny Depp has proven his innocence and I’m tired of you all defending a woman with a proven track record of multiple abuse. It is strange.”

According to TMZ, Depp won’t be walking the runway on the show, but he will take center stage in one of the show’s “star” moments, as Cindy Crawford and Erykah Badu have previously done. Wearing clothes from the men’s collection, Depp will be the first man in Savage x Fenty history to fill the role.
