A wrong transfer of 860,000 euros that was accidentally credited to his bank account and the consequent decision to spend it all immediately: it seems to be the plot of a movie, but that’s exactly what happened to 24-year-old Australian rapper Abdel Ghadia in 2021 is now on trial for embezzling that money. This sum was borne by a young couple who accidentally made a transfer to the wrong recipient (the correct recipient was the Commonwealth Bank) to buy a new house. “I had just woken up and seen the money,” Abdel told police.

The young man wasted no time and, having been credited with the large sum (albeit accidentally), he immediately bought $600,000 in gold bullion in a Sydney store, then $110,000 in valuable coins in a Brisbane store. The rest? In clothes and cosmetics. Abdel Ghadia appeared before Burwood Magistrates’ Court in Sydney on 2 November, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of misappropriation of crime funds. On December 2, the sentence that can only be one sentence, according to the Chron.
