After the reaction, the journalist explained in another report from the channel that the broadcast contained supporting images at the time of the Caturrita’s appearance that is, he only “told” the news. Because of this, he made the gesture of pointing at the animal to show the cameraman.

Nicolás said he can usually comment on the situation, but since he’s reporting a “sensitive” matter, he’s decided not to respond to the “theft” until after the show has ended. “I thought it wisest to follow the program,” he commented.

“It was probably a bird that once had an owner and escaped. Because of that, you have a higher level of trust in a person,” he said.

The “theft” had a “happy ending”. “After we were done, we went in search of the headset. Luckily the cameraman found him in the grass and we were able to save the phone,” said Nicolás.

However, the Caturrita was not seen again. “The bird is still free, that’s all,” the reporter joked.
