During the years of his extraordinary career, Renzo Arbore had to face a serious illness that brought his working life to a standstill. Arbore was having a really bad time: Here’s what happened.

Renzo Arbore is one of the pillars of Italian music and radio. A singular pioneer, he forever changed Rai entertainment and ushered the TV channel into a modernity truly unthinkable in the 1970s.

Arbore has proven very fragile when he talks about it illness that struck him years ago and marked him forever. In an interview with the newspaper Ok health and wellnessspoke of the dangerous health problem who caught him in 2019 just when he was on tour.

He has always dedicated himself to his work, which he has really done with passion, for this reason – despite the illness – he underestimated the importance of itwho decides to continue carrying his show throughout Italy.

The symptom of the illness was a low-grade fever, which Renzo linked to tour fatigue. However, the discomfort became so unbearable that he had to abandon his tour and was taken to the hospital:

I’ve been working a lot lately. To keep my commitments, I moved north from Sicily. I started the tour in Bergamo. A triumph. There weren’t any ‘Southerners’ like me in the audience, and the consensus was that nobody wanted me to leave the stage,” he admits.

In retrospect, Arbore admits that that low-grade fever, albeit mild, had caused concern: “Precisely because of Fever that wouldn’t let me rest, I felt something was wrong“.

The doctors he spoke to had advised him to rest, but he continued to work – underestimated: “The tour goes on, the promises made must be kept. Wrapped in a blanket and filled with paracetamol tablets I’m moving to Milan, the new and third stage of the Tour, a very important opportunity for me that anticipates that of Genoa and the others.

Then one evening it was time rushed to the emergency room of the Milan Polyclinicwhere doctors determined it was in circulation a fairly serious infection. Arbore returns to Rome in an ambulance, where he is admitted to the Quisisana nursing home with the diagnosis bronchopneumonia.
