Halloween is over, but the horror flick Smile is grinning its way into box office history.
The horror film stars Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick’s daughter Sosie Bacon, 30, as Rose Carter, a doctor who witnesses her patient experience a traumatic death.
The doctor then begins to have her own haunting experiences, including incidents where she confronts people with forced smiles. Rose quickly learns that she must confront her own troubling past before time runs out and evil forces take her life.

Jessie T. Usher, Kyle Gallner, Robin Weigert, Caitlin Stasey, Kal Penn and Rob Morgan star in the thriller.
The tightly packed cinematic entry opened at number one six weeks ago and has held up a steady audience despite some daunting competition from the likes of Halloween Ends and The Invitation.
A month and a half after its release, the film ranked fourth in box office sales for the weekend ending October 6 and grossed $4 million in the US.

Globally, the spooky big screen offering earned an additional $5.1 million.
So far, the film has grossed nearly $203 million and is the biggest horror film of 2022 across 43 markets including the UK, Germany, France, Austria, Spain and Australia.
Smile has a 79 percent critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes and audiences seem to agree, giving it an approval rating of 78 percent.

Sosie’s father highly praised her performance, telling the Hollywood Reporter, “When she got that role [in Smile]Even though I knew how hard she worked and knew she was good, when I saw the film I was really stunned not only by how great she was but also by how difficult this role was because it is one those parts where there is no pause. Usually you start out and the character is pretty happy for at least 15 or 20 minutes before things get awful. But this is a film where the stress level is [insane]. I was very proud of her.”
