In July, Francia opened up about how she had to change her diet after donating a kidney to Selena, who suffers from lupus — an autoimmune disease that causes the body’s natural defenses to attack healthy tissue.

“Because I have a functioning kidney, which acts as a filter for my body, I can’t get as much protein. I eat a lot — I know I’m skinny, but I don’t eat enough — so that was a big concern when I spoke to the doctor,” she told Yahoo Life.

The How I Met Your Father star can now only eat three to five ounce servings of protein at a time. “I just have to monitor it. And I have to drink at least two to three liters of water a day. I can feel the difference when I’m not. I get nauseous when I’m dehydrated and that’s just not good. I’m feeling clammy,” she shared.
