False reports of Dolphin Mall shooting investigated 7 Miami

False reports about an active shooter at Dolphin Mall sparked a panic among people on Sunday afternoon.

Sweetwater Police said they received multiple 911 calls reporting a gunman but confirmed no shots were fired.

According to Dolphin Mall security, no one had a gun and the panic was sparked by someone “making noise”. They also said someone is in custody, but police have not confirmed this or revealed their identity.

Officials responded to the mall to investigate a stolen vehicle near the entrance.

“While we conduct the investigation, all is safe and secure,” the Sweetwater Police Department tweeted.
