The Block: Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra flee Melbourne after auction flops

EXCLUSIVE: The Block’s Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra reveal the brutal aftermath of their auction day disaster: a divisive couple flee Melbourne to make a fresh start after their house fails to sell

The block’s Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra pack their bags and leave Melbourne after their home was auctioned off over the weekend.

The couple, who have been named the most controversial team of this year, are moving to their family farm in South Australia after failing to find a buyer for the Macedon Ranges refurbishment during Sunday’s final.

“We need a vacation. We will 100 per cent take a break and then reassess what we want to do next year,” Sharon, 35, told Chron Australia.

“I think we will try to go back to South Australia where we come from and spend time on the family farm in the vineyards and just have a good time.”

“I grew up on a farm and love it, and my future will always be on a farm. We’re just finding out when,” the former Neighbors star added.

Sharon revealed that the couple will “probably be trying to have a baby next year and then when we have a slightly larger family we will be 100 per cent moving to the farm full time.”

Though she loves living in the city, Sharon said her long-term plan is always to move to the country.

As for her future career prospects, when she is not busy with acting jobs or auditions, she would like to start in interior design.

Sharon also confirmed that her husband Ankur still works as a director at his financial firm and has in fact been “promoted twice since the show.”

And that’s despite his skills as an accountant being questioned on the show by host Scott Cam and foremen Dan Reilly and Keith Schleiger.
