Despite a convincing cover of Elton John’s I’m Still Standing, it was the enigmatic Mandrill that received the fewest votes from the audience.
When it came time for Breton, Meunier, DiCaire and Rousseau to guess which Quebec personality was hiding behind the costume, no one seemed too sure of “his shot” except perhaps Sam Breton.
Anouk Meunier proposed Arnaud Soly, Véronic DiCaire kept his first impression which was Réal Béland, Sam Breton tried his hand at Stéphane Archambault and Stéphane Rousseau with Émile Bilodeau.
In the end Sam was right. All the energetic performances we got during the monkey season came from comedian and group leader Mes Aïeux.
Stéphane Archambault has been working with his group since 1996. We owe the monster success Degenerations to Mes Aïeux, of course, but also to Le yâbe est dans la hut and Les Oies sauvage.
This is the eighth masked singer to leave the competition and the second “real” singer to be unmasked, following Patrick Norman last week.
Keep in mind that we still don’t know who the international singer is who is coming in a special performance shortly.
