(Portal) – Twitter has reportedly asked dozens of employees, half of the platform’s workforce laid off on Friday, to return to their jobs, Bloomberg News reported on Sunday.
Some are said to have been accidentally fired and others were fired before management realized the importance of their expertise in developing the new features Elon Musk envisioned, the news outlet said, citing sources at the time.
Twitter began laying off half of its workforce on Friday, including employees on the trust and security team, Yoel Roth, the company’s chief security and integrity officer, said in a tweet on Friday.
According to employee tweets, teams responsible for communications, content curation, human rights and automation are among those laid off, as are some product and engineering teams.
Twitter did not immediately respond to a request.
