In November 2015, the King launched a socio-economic and human development program for our southern regions worth around 77 billion dirhams.

“In fact, the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway is already in the stage of completion. The region’s connection to the national electricity grid is truly assured and its communications networks have also benefited from a reinforcement and expansion plan,” said the king.

In addition, “the project foreseen in the program for solar and wind power plants has been completed”, stressed King Mohammed VI, who added that “once the studies and administrative formalities for the large port of Dakhla Atlantique have been completed, the construction works will start shortly”.

King Mohammed VI also announced that “in the agricultural field, more than six thousand hectares developed in Dakhla and Boujdour have been made available to young farmers in the region (…) In addition, most of the planned projects are in the fields of phosphate, water and sanitation planned sectors have advanced performance rates”.

A package of measures on several levels is also planned in the social and cultural area, with projects by young people and women being given priority.
