Guilherme de Pádua, the murderer of actress Daniella Perez, died this Sunday (6) at the age of 53 in Belo Horizonte. The former actor would have died at his home after suffering a heart attack.
The information was released in a live performance by Pastor Márcio Valadão of the Lagoinha Baptist Church, where the former actor became a pastor years after the 1992 murder of Daniella, daughter of playwright Gloria Perez.
“Just before 10:00 p.m. I received a call from a sister who was speaking about one of our pastors who had just passed away. For me it was a very big impact because I led the service this morning and he was sitting in the first pew with his wife “I committed this terrible crime with Daniela Perez, was arrested, served his sentence and converted. He was in the house, fell and died. He just died,” Valadão said.
“He had been with us for 15 years and his pastoral work consisted precisely in caring for other exprisoners,” the pastor added.

Daniella’s murder
At the height of her career, Daniella Perez was killed on December 28, 1992. Her body was found in a thicket with scissor stitches. The investigation led authorities to Padua, which at the time was dating Daniella on the soap opera De Corpo e Alma and his thenwife Paula Thomaz. The case shocked the Brazilian population, mainly because of this brutality.
Guilherme pleaded guilty to the crime, and he and Paula were sentenced to 19 and 18 years in prison, respectively, for double counted murder. However, they left the regime en masse in 1999 after serving a third of their sentence.
How William of Padua lived in 2022
Guilherme was pastor of the Lagoinha Baptist Church in Belo Horizonte. In 2017, he married makeup artist Juliana Lacerda for the third time.
He had an active Instagram account for years, where he had more than 40,000 followers, as well as a YouTube channel. Both profiles were deactivated in 2020 when Guilherme regained media prominence by taking part in an act benefiting Bolsonaro in Brasília.
He recently denied giving up social media in the face of the series. He also said at the time that the internet was an important tool to “defend oneself against accusations and persecution”.
Paula Thomaz, who now works as Paula Peixoto after marrying lawyer Sérgio Peixoto, lives more discreetly. In 2021, she was again highlighted in the press with the news that she was preparing her youngest daughter to become an actress.
The information was criticized by Gloria Perez, who took to social media by saying “this criminal knows no borders”. Paula even filed a criminal complaint against the author, claiming she received threats after Gloria’s comments.
Earlier this year, the Rio de Janeiro judiciary ruled that Guilherme and Paula would pay the plaintiff compensation of R$480,000 each, in addition to ordering the seizure of Paula and her husband’s current home to reverse the current decision.
