BRUSSELS, 07 NOVEMBER – “We have already disbursed 1 billion in August and another 2 billion in October out of the 9 billion in the exceptional macro-financial assistance package for Ukraine. And another 3 billion will be paid out by the end of the year”. This was stated by the spokeswoman for the EU Commission, Veerle Nuyts, when asked about the European aid package for Ukraine, which has so far been approved by the member states for 6 of the planned nine billion euros.
“Work on the remaining 3 billion of the entire exceptional package of 9 billion is underway,” Nuyts added, reiterating what was simultaneously announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy: “ This week the Commission will present an aid package for Ukraine of up to 1.5 billion per month “for 2023”.
