AMC Theaters, an American pro-crypto cinema chain, has updated its mobile app services to accept Dogecoin (DOGE), Shibu Inu (SHIB), and other cryptocurrencies as payment in the United States.
AMC Theaters first began accepting crypto payments on November 12, 2022, allowing customers to purchase movie tickets online using Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), and Litecoin (LTC).
On January 6, 2022, Adam Aron, the CEO of AMC Theaters, promised User via tweet to include DOGE and SHIB meme tokens by March. Aron’s team delivered with a little delay.
Just as promised, the AMC mobile app for AMC’s US theaters now accepts online payments with Doge Coin, Shiba Inu, and other cryptocurrencies thanks to Bitpay. Also Apple Pay, Google Pay and Paypal. To do this, you must first update to the latest version of our app. pic.twitter.com/MMy7SIxYbl

In the announcement, Aron revealed that AMC Theaters’ iOS and Android mobile apps could accept crypto payments via integration with BitPay, a bitcoin payment processor.
However, the names of the other newly supported cryptocurrencies are yet to be announced. To use the feature, US users are advised to download the latest version of the mobile app.
