More than two million influenza vaccines came to Venezuela from Nicaragua to treat diseases such as measles, yellow fever and hepatitis.
The batch of 2.5 million drugs entered the country through the agreement with the Russian Federation. Vaccines against Covid-19 were also sent to Venezuela in this way.
According to the State Department, these flu vaccines will be distributed throughout the country’s hospital and outpatient clinic network. However, they did not specify exactly what type of medication is used.
In addition, the ministry pointed out that these vaccines are produced by the Scientific Research Institute of Vaccines and Sera and the Production Factory of Bacterial Preparations in St. Petersburg.
Various batches of vaccine shipments from Russia, Cuba and the Covax system have arrived in Venezuela to help control the pandemic in the country.
Exactly with Covax it was announced last March the arrival of the latest anticovid vaccines that counted for four million doses.
“This time we get a sixth arrival of this mechanism, a little more than 4,800,000 doses. This will allow us to immunize our population in our reinforcement program,” the health minister told VTV. Magaly Gutierrez.
