the team of Fantastic spent eight days driving to one of the coldest places on earth. Little did our reporters know they were about to find a magical place. See the full report in the video above.
In the summer, the rivers and lakes of the north carry water to every piece of land. But when winter comes, they turn into a silent immensity. It was this path that opened up for our team, towards the extreme north: the Arctic Circle.
The Ice Roads lead to a race living in an extremely isolated place. And these people claim to hold the secret of humanity’s future at the bottom of a lake.
The report left New York for Toronto, Canada. From there he went to Edmonton. Days later, Yellowknife, where there is an airport. The temperature was already 40°C.
The plan was as follows: First 650 km of asphalt. Then 220km on a mix of tarmac and river crossings. And then only drive on winteronly roads.
You will see in this report:
- Paths of transparent ice where you can see the bottom of the lake;
- wooden bridges built over ice crevices;
- A herd of bison searching for grass in the snow;
- Peoples living in isolation in a region where it is not possible to travel by land in summer.
