What is fentanyl?
Fentanyl is a very powerful opioid pain reliever and one of the topselling drugs on the underground market. Authorities estimate that the use of fentanyl and other similar drugs resulted in the deaths of 9,580 people in the United States in 2015 following opioid prescription restrictions, a 73% increase from 2014. In an adult, however, fentanyl can cause various side effects that not all patients experience, such as: excessive sleepiness, dizziness or headache, tiredness and weakness, lack of energy, changes in some senses such as taste and smell. According to the findings of the investigation and examination of the victim’s body, the child would have died from a combination of fentanyl and heroin.
